X.NOV is a leading player in the field of implantable hip and knee medical devices, based in HÉRICOURT, Franche-Comté.
We are a French group in the healthcare field, specialising in the design, manufacture, marketing and sale of implantable orthopaedic prostheses for hip and knee as well as the associated instrumentation. The perpetual search for the best solutions for patients and healthcare professionals requires an openness outside our borders. This is why X.NOV is organised by business unit around an international know-how. Our organisation thus benefits from optimal efficiency which stimulates our way of working and boosts our activity.
X.NOV is an independent French family group originally formed by a triumvirate of creative enthusiasts with complementary academic and professional backgrounds in the medical sector. The founders decided to unite their know-how and ideas in the service of the patient in the field of orthopaedic surgery. In order to reduce the risks of contamination and to facilitate the work of the personnel in the operating theatre, they develop the first disposable ancillary for the hip. At the same time they designed the KAPS® solution for partial knee arthroplasty, which allows the surgeon to adapt to the patient's clinical situation during the operation thanks to an innovative ancillary.

In 2003, the founders won the national competition for the creation of innovative technology companies organised by the Ministry of Research with the collaboration of Anvar (now BPI).
On March 15, 2003, X.NOV was born!
X.NOV was labelled "innovative company" by the FCPI (Fonds Communs de Placement dans l'Innovation) in 2004.
The DNA of X.NOV is to constantly invest in the fields of quality, research & development by working with opinion leader surgeons in order to develop more efficient and innovative products.
The X.NOV group has rapidly developed through internal but also external growth. It is currently composed of 7 companies, bringing together more than 200 highly talented employees, focused on customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The company enters adulthood and celebrates its 20th anniversary, confirming its place as a significant player in the orthopaedic prosthesis and associated instrumentation market.
Associated with a creative and efficient multidisciplinary team, the three founders of X.NOV have over 60 years of experience in the field of medical device research and development (R&D).
Innovation is at the heart of the company's strategy. Not being satisfied with what exists, improving, looking for the idea that will make the difference in the respect of patient safety is our line of conduct. Equipped with substantial scientific means, our research and development department has a test laboratory whose aim is to mechanically stress our implants in order to reproduce real operating conditions in humans.
Holder of more than 30 patents and trademarks, X.NOV is constantly developing and improving its products. In collaboration with internationally recognised orthopaedic surgery professors and talented surgeons, our R&D teams devise solutions to improve the performance of medical devices.
